Mr. Hollands has over 45 years’
experience in field construction and manufacturing.
Twenty-two years were directly associated with welder
training, classroom instruction, practical hands-on
welding and fitting instruction. He has also worked as a
job placement director, welding consultant, and manger
of welder qualification testing laboratory. He has
worked overseas on two projects in Africa, one in
Mozambique and the other in Zimbabwe. He has taught over
12,000 hours of hands-on welding, classroom, seminars,
practical fitting and contract training, along with
international welder training in Africa.

Brian W. Hollands -
Vice President/School Director
Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a 3.0 GPA from the
University of Kansas. He graduated from Union High
School in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a 3.48 GPA in the top 25%
of his graduating class of 700 students. He graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in October of 1995 and has worked
as a welding instructor for nine years and has worked as
Director of Training and Chief Welding
Instructor for five of those years. Brian has taught
over 16,000 hours of classroom and hands-on welding
training and has helped to further Missouri Welding
Institute’s curriculum in both the shop as well as the
classroom. Brian is in charge of the placement
department and has also worked in the admissions and
marketing departments for MWI.
Brian holds an American Welding Society “Certified
Welding Inspector” national inspection certification,
and is currently studying to test for Levels I and II
Society for Nondestructive Testing “Technician
Certifications” in Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle
Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and
Radiographic Testing. He has certified to both AWS-American
Welding Society D1.1 Structural Welding Code and ASME-American
Society of Mechanical Engineers Section IX of the Boiler
and Pressure Vessel Code.
Brian has certified with and has experience in all 4
major welding processes on both plate and pipe. Brian
has field experience on refineries, chemical plants,
paper mills, steel mills and fossil fuel plants as a
combination pipe welder and fitter. Brian is currently
a member of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers, The American Welding Society, The American
Society for Nondestructive Testing, The American Society
Testing and Materials, and The American Society for
Metals.

Clint Parker –Director of Training
Clint graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in May of 1997. Since graduating Clint has worked on several different jobs that have given him a versatile learning experience. Those have included nuclear power plants, coal power plants, paper mills, refineries, and food grade plants.Clint has certified to both AWS – American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Welding Code and ASME – American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section IX of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Clint has extensive experience in the following processes on pipe and plate: MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux Core.In addition Clint is also certified in all positions with the above mentioned codes. Clint also has the ability to read and interpret isometric and orthographic blueprints, layout and assembly.

Paul Schneider -
Instructor
Paul graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in July
1995 at the top of his class. He has certified to both
AWS-American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Welding
Code and ASME-American Society of Mechanical Engineers
Section IX of
the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Paul has worked on shutdowns, add-ons, turnaround
maintenance, new construction, including electrical
generating power plants, fossil fuel, nuclear generating
stations, corn processing plants and refineries.
Paul has owned his own welding business doing
maintenance and repair, including new fabrication. Paul
has received certified training pertaining to safety,
confined space entry, fire watch, fall protection, man
lift operation and radiation training.______________________________________
Steve Jones – Welding Instructor
Steve graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in 1999. Since graduating Steve has had experience working on nuclear power plants, coal fired power plants, steel mills, paper mills, refineries, ethanol plants, bio-diesel plants and breweries. The projects have been new construction, expansions, rebuilds, and shutdowns
Steve has worked as certified combination welder, pipefitter, Foreman, General Foreman as well as various other supervisory positions. Steve has welded on several different alloys including: carbon steel, 1 ¼ chrome, 2 ¼ chrome, several different grades of stainless steel, and inconnel. Steve has experience with all four major welding processes which include: TIG, MIG, Stick, and Flux Core.

Chad Cargill – Instructor
Chad graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in August of 2002. After graduating Chad has worked on coal fired power plants, fuel fired power plants, food processing plants, as well as shop and manufacturing. Chad also has his own portable welding service and has worked on projects consisting of new construction, shutdowns, and expansions.
Chad has extensive experience with all four major welding processes which include: MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux Core. Chad is also certified to both AWS-American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Welding Code and ASME-American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section IX of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. ___________________________________________
Zach Nance – Instructor
Zach graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in the fall of 1998. Since graduating Zach has worked shutdowns, new construction, and expansions in oil and gas refineries, natural gas plants, coal mines, chemical plants, oil fields, ethanol plants, and fabrication shops.
Zach has worked as a certified combination welder, combination rig welder and pipe fitter. Zach has certified on carbon steel, stainless steel, 9% chrome, and Inconnel. Zach is highly proficient with the four major welding processes which include: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW.

Kent Pruitt -
Director of Admissions
Kent is a May 2000 MWI graduate who feels equally at
home in the admissions office or in the back, burning
rods. He is a native of the Nevada area where he
currently resides with his wife and two young daughters.
Kent owns his own business, United Welding Services, and
has worked for Boilermaker’s Union Local #83 in Kansas
City. As Outreach Coordinator, he spends a lot of time
on the road attending conventions and career days. Kent
does not consider himself a “salesman.” He presents the
abundant opportunities MWI can offer to prospective
students, but as he will tell you, “A good product sells
itself.”
When Kent is not working, he enjoys the never-ending
process of restoring his family’s 1928 home and
motorcycling.

Justin Parks -
Admissions Representative/Outreach Coordinator
Justin is a 1997 graduate of MWI and currently resides in Nevada Missouri with his wife Gale and daughter Abigale and son Tyler.
Justin worked as a field welder for ten years before
joining the MWI team as an admissions representative in
July of 2006. As a certified pipe welder he has welded
on nuclear power plants, gas fired power plants, coal
fired power plants, paper mills, ethanol plants, alcohol
plants, and food grade plants.
Justin is now looking forward to helping you in any way
with your career decision to become an MWI graduate and
certified welder.

Todd Spangler – Admissions Representative
Todd is a 1998 graduate of MWI and is the newest addition to the finest staff anywhere.He currently resides in Stockton where he enjoys hunting and fishing the Missouri Ozarks.
A ten year veteran of the field, Todd has worked as a certified pipe welder on nuclear generating stations, chemical plants, paper mills, tire plants, ethanol plants, gas fired power plants, alcohol plants, and food grade plants
Todd attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln Nebraska where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Special Welding Applications. Todd has also had specialized training in Chicago Illinois on Dimetrics Gold Track Orbital Welders. Todd’s vast field experience and specialized training should assist you greatly in making your decision to choose the welding field as your career.

Amanda Hall -
Accounting/Director’s Assistant
Amanda is a welcome addition to MWI and
is a native of the Sheldon area, where she currently
resides with her husband and two young boys. Amanda has
previous experiences as a H.R. Secretary/Receptionist, where she handled the workman’s
comp, personnel issues and production reports.
Here, Amanda does accounts payable/receivable and works
directly under Brian Hollands, the Director of the
School. She will go over the financial end of school
with you and is willing to assist both students and
parents with financial questions. Amanda’s skill and
enthusiasm tops off what we consider the best group of
employees anywhere.

Lori Payne – Office Manager/Administrative Assistant
Lori is probably the first person you will meet when you visit MWI. She greets you, takes care of most of your paperwork, issues you your equipment, and sells tools and supplies as well as a myriad of other job duties. Lori greets you with a kind heart and professional demeanor that makes you feel right at home.
Lori has had extensive supervisory experience working as a manager of two convenience stores in Lamar Missouri which has honed her skills for her position here at MWI. Lori’s son Trey graduated from Missouri Welding Institute in the spring of 2003 and currently works forICI Explosives based out of Joplin Missouri
